Born April 17, 1954 in Paris, Jean-Pierre Gibrat knows a suburban childhood uneventful. Grew up in a CGT, brilliant history, he obtained his baccalaureate through the Popular Front and agriculture of the USSR. He then turns to advertising graphics, and then enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1975. Two years later, he interrupted his studies to embark on serious comics and published his first complete stories in Pilote. His meeting with the writer Jackie Berroyer, his eldest of eight years, will spark the little "Goudard" in comics, daily series of avatars of a teenager who will attend then finely typed CHARLIE MONTHLY then GLACIAL FLUID. Meanwhile, Gibrat multiplies the drawings in the press plugged (The EDJ, NEW OBS, etc..) And collaborated POCKET COMPUTER SCIENCE AND FUTURE, then I BOUQUINE and Okapi (the series "Doctors Without Borders", on scenarios of Guy Vidal and Dominique Leguillier). In 1982, his talent as an evocation of the fairer sex Berroyer incentive to offer him a character in "Paris" on holiday to be introduced in PILOT. They decide to meet Goudard and this seductive creature in the series of albums that opened their Dargaud.
