Biography
Born April 17, 1954 in Paris, Jean-Pierre Gibrat knows a suburban childhood uneventful. Grew up in a CGT, brilliant history, he obtained his baccalaureate through the Popular Front and agriculture of the USSR. He then turns to advertising graphics, and then enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1975. Two years later, he interrupted his studies to embark on serious comics and published his first complete stories in Pilote. His meeting with the writer Jackie Berroyer, his eldest of eight years, will spark the little "Goudard" in comics, daily series of avatars of a teenager who will attend then finely typed CHARLIE MONTHLY then GLACIAL FLUID. Meanwhile, Gibrat multiplies the drawings in the press plugged (The EDJ, NEW OBS, etc..) And collaborated POCKET COMPUTER SCIENCE AND FUTURE, then I BOUQUINE and Okapi (the series "Doctors Without Borders", on scenarios of Guy Vidal and Dominique Leguillier). In 1982, his talent as an evocation of the fairer sex Berroyer incentive to offer him a character in "Paris" on holiday to be introduced in PILOT. They decide to meet Goudard and this seductive creature in the series of albums that opened their Dargaud. Perfectionist designer, so slow, Gibrat likes to surprise by changing the subject to address areas where it was least expected little. In 1985, he agrees to live in the bitch TELE-POCKET Zaza Saval Dany and Michel Drucker ("The Empire under the sea"). Ten years later, he published by Albin Michel an erotic version of "Pinocchia", from a screenplay by Francis Leroi. The following year, with Daniel Pecqueur, it mixes fantasy and fantasy in "Low Tide" for collection "Long Haul" of Dargaud.Mais is in the prestigious collection "Aire Libre" that consists only of a head- work of rural nostalgia and historical reconstruction of years of occupation as experienced in rural France: "The Reprieve" wins multiple awards and an enthusiastic response from readers. His first test round author is a total success. It will be followed, in 2002, the magnificent "Flight of the Raven". BD Festival of Saint-Malo, "Quai bubbles", awarded its 2004 prize to Jean-Pierre Gibrat ("The Reprieve", "The Flight of the Raven"). Jean-Pierre Gibrat was presented, Thursday, January 26, 2006, the price of the drawing at the Angoulême Festival for the second volume of "Flight of the Raven".
